 Changes to OSCE Skill Station Timings As part of the ongoing review of the NMC Test of Competence Part II Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), changes have been made in relation to the timings of the skill stations across all fields of nursing and midwifery (where applicable). 

These changes have been implemented from 2 September 2019.

 All current skills station timings are noted below: 

  1.  Administration of Inhaled Medication (AIM) – 15 minutes 
  2.  Aseptic Non-Touch Technique (ANTT) – 15 minutes 
  3.  Catheter Specimen of Urine (CSU) – 12 minutes 
  4. Fluid Balance (FB) – 15 minutes 
  5.  In-hospital Resuscitation (without defibrillation) (IHR) – 8 minutes 
  6.  Intramuscular Injection (IM) -15 minutes 
  7.  Midstream Specimen of Urine (MSU) and Urinalysis – 15 minutes 
  8.  Peak Expiratory Flow Rate (PEFR) – 12 minutes 
  9.  Removal of Urinary Catheter (RUC) – 12 minutes 
  10.  Subcutaneous Injection (Subcut) – 15 minutes All APIE (Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation) Stations remain 15 minutes.
